A message from the Headmistress
“Sydenham is a first-class school and its pupils and teachers are bursting with talent and energy. Our motto ‘Fear Nothing’ lies at the heart of all the school does. What makes Sydenham so special is the value it places on the individual. Huge importance is placed on the primacy of the classroom, and all pupils are helped and encouraged to do their very best. The creation of an aspirational and inclusive environment where pupils can be themselves, free from the fear of failure, is one of Sydenham’s foremost aims. I am thrilled to have joined such a wonderful community.”
Mrs Woodcock was brought up in Hampshire, and studied French and Russian at Bristol University. She is married with two children, enjoys the outdoor life, and has a particular love for Dorset and the Jurassic Coast. During her teaching career, she has been a Head of Sixth Form, a Deputy Head Academic, as well as a Housemistress and was most recently the Senior Deputy Head at Queen’s College in Central London. Teaching and education are very much in her blood, as she comes from a long line of educators in her family.
