The School carol concert returned to St. Bartholomew’s Church this year. A year ago, in December 2010, just as the snow had begun to settle, the old Church boiler breathed its last and the carol service was moved to the Longton Hall. But in 2011 it was good to be back in this beautiful Church. Four harpists opened the concert as well as accompanying performances from the Chamber Choir with Wolcum Yole and There is no rose from Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols and the Junior and Senior Choir performances interspersed the congregational singing A collection for Welcare was taken at the end of the service.
