Year 6 Celebrating Success

The year 6 Celebrating Success was a wonderful finale to the girls’ time in Junior School.  Proud parents applauded as each pupil received a certificate to celebrate each girl’s achievement, both individually and for their contributions to school life.

This year the girls were delighted to welcome guest speaker, Claire Bennett, a Sydenham High alumna and championship fencer, who urged the girls to ‘find their spark’, their individual talent and to develop it to the best they can be. She shared with the girls how once she had found her focus in her chosen sport, even her school work improved!

Class teachers Mrs Jimenez and Ms Patton presented each girl with their leavers’ present, an engraved pen, as a reminder of their days in the Junior School.

The girls reprised numbers from Cinderella Rockerfella one last time, the choir surprised everyone with their chorus played on gazoos, and Ella Plumb, who has received a music scholarship to the Senior School, played a very accomplished solo on the saxaphone.

Before a final farewell to the girls from Mr May, the Sports Cup was presented to Shirreff house captains and the House Cup 2012 was presented to Grey house captains (once Mr May had worked out how to tie a ribbon on)!
