Young Enterprise teams triumph at regional finals

edit

The joint Sydenham High and Dulwich College Young Enterprise teams have triumphed in the first round of the Company of the Year Awards.  Altitude, which includes Aalia Jawad, Elyse Jones, Emily Lawson, Olivia Muir, Kit Pearson, Ella Pegg, Dora Roughan and Eleanor Wooderson won the award for Best Report in Southwark, whilst One Race which includes Stephanie Alves, Rebecca Chilvers, Sophie Hart, Chanelle Henry, Sofia Khan, Tamara Luther, Evelina Michael and Rachael Otto won awards for Best Report, Best Company in Lewisham and Best Overall Company for South East London.

One Race aims not only to be a business success but to help break down racial barriers in the community.  The company produces and sells clothing and hosts events to raise awareness of the need for racial equality with 50 per cent of profits going to the anti-racism charity Show Racism the Red Card. Its most recent venture was a very successful disco, hosted at Dulwich College, for years 7 and 8 from both schools as well as JAGS.  The team also proved their business metal when even a last minute DJ crisis failed to make them lose their cool.

Congratulations to all the girls and their Dulwich College team mates.  One Race now goes through to the East London finals.
