For this year’s Harvest Festival, girls and staff at Sydenham High have been busily collecting food gifts for the Lewisham Foodbank. Following the Senior School’s harvest assembly this week the many generous donations were loaded onto the school minibus for transporting to the foodbank’s local depot in Sydenham. Head girl Olivia Muir (right) and Charity Prefect Kit Pearson (left) were there to help supervise the transfer and send the bus on its way.
Luke Aylward, Project Manager for Lewisham Foodbank, said: “We’re extremely grateful to all at Sydenham High – pupils, parents and staff – for your Harvest donation to Lewisham Foodbank. It’s no secret that times are tough for many people and we can ensure that the food you have donated can go directly to local people who find themselves in real crisis.”
