Sydenham High’s senior school language students scooped two top awards at the recent GDST Modern Foreign Language Festival held at Northampton High School.  Lauren Hare won the prize for the best Spanish poem and Katya Johnson won the best German poem.  All the girls who recited French poems were praised by the judges.  In all 15 girls took part in the Festival.  Year 7 performed impressively in the French spelling bee, the Year 8s put up a good showing in the French, Spanish and German quizzes, and the Year 10 girls who recited poems really shone.  Everyone enjoyed the competitions and the chance to meet some of their counterparts from other GDST schools.
