Little Stars and Musical Treats - Sydenham High School

Little Stars and Musical Treats

edit

It’s always a special treat to see the youngest girls in the school enjoying their music and, for some, making their first musical performances.

Year 1 and Year 2 delighted their audience at the recent Little Stars concert in the school’s Recital Hall. The girls were confident and polished with their pieces and poems and sang some of the favourite songs from their class music sessions, including: Geppetto made a puppet, Tiger Tango and Pirate Ship.

Year 2 have also been treated to a violin workshop by Mr Harper who came to play for and talk to the girls.

Meanwhile Reception have been working on a new project combining music and movement with Ms Bruce-Mitford, using Dalcroze techniques.

This year’s Practice-a-thon for CLIC Sargent is also underway and sponsorship money is already coming in.

Finally, Year 6 have been working hard on their major production of Annie which promises to be a wonderful finale to the Summer term.
