Four of Sydenham High’s youngest digital leaders have helped to create a series of e-safety digital awareness videos for the Girls’ Day School Trust, aimed at both students and parents.

Alyssa Patel and Kirsten Marks from Year 6, and Deeya Patel and Emily Coulson from Year 7 joined peers from other schools across the Trust to be filmed discussing a range of issues with older students who have set up a company called Digital Awareness UK.

The innovative company promotes e-safety and social media training to encourage an open and honest dialogue between parents and children to help the students be safer web users.

The discussion topics ranged from cyber-bullying, the digital footprint, privacy and security, and relationships.

The girls demonstrated incredible maturity and were very natural in front of the camera.

The set of short films will be aired on the GDST website in the coming months.
