Junior School warms to cross country challenge

This year’s Sydenham High Junior School annual inter-house cross country event was held on one of the warmest late September days that anyone can remember.

Reception completed one lap of the Astroturf, running the whole way without stopping, whilst  Year 1 ran two laps and Year 2 completed three continuous circuits.

The KS2 races took place at Crystal Palace Park where there were many excellent performances and some very close finishes.  Years 3 and 4 undertook one loop of just under 1k, with Years 5 and 6 taking on two such circuits.

At the end of the event the winning House was Grey with 116 points; Guerney was second with 106 points, while Stanley took third place with 88 and a very close fourth place went to Sherriff with 84 points.

A big thank you to Mrs Skinner who was the hare for all races and to Ms Boyd who was the sweeper.
