Frances swims to victory in London and Surrey

Frances Newe May2017Year 9 swimmer Frances Newe has overcome injury to triumph at the London Regional Championships.

Having recovered from a shoulder injury, Frances spent the last couple of weekends competing at the London Regional Championships with tremendous success.  She is now the regional champion in no less than 6 events: the 200m Breaststroke, 200m Butterfly, 200m Backstroke, 200m medley, 400m medley and 100m Breaststroke.  She was the overall best performing under 15 girl in the whole of the London region. Her times also put her in the top 20 swimmers for her age in Britain, and in the case of the 200m Breaststroke she is currently ranked 4th in Britain.

Earlier in the season, Frances also had a very successful run at the Surrey County Championships where she won 8 medals – 3 gold and 5 silver – finishing 2nd overall in her age group.

Her strong performance means that she will be competing at the British Summer Championships in Sheffield later this Summer.
