Congratulations to year 10 swimmer Frances Newe on her successful performance in not one, but two national swimming competitions, which took place in Sheffield over the Summer.

At the British Championships, which featured the top 25 swimmers in the UK, Frances finished 13th in the 400m medley, 11th in the 200m breaststroke and made the final in the 200m medley finishing 10th in Britain.

At the English Nationals, attended by the top 40 swimmers in England, Frances finished 6th in the 100m breaststroke, 8th in the 200m butterfly and 11th in the 200m backstroke.

Frances has already qualified for the Winter Nationals and has been selected for the Surrey county team for the Inter-county Nationals in October. She has also been selected for Swim England’s talent camp and The Olympic Pathway, a series of training events which will end in the selection of the next British Olympic swimming squad.
