Spirit of the Community photography competition launched for years 5 and 6

Sydenham High School has issued a challenge to local junior photographers to capture  the true spirit of their local community in a new competition.  Pupils from years 5 and 6 in local primary and independent prep schools, including those at Sydenham High Junior School, are being invited to take part in the month-long competition.

It could be an event, a place, a building, an object, a person or even an animal - the choice is down to each photographer

Pupils can only submit one entry each.  All entries received will be digitally displayed around the school at events this Autumn before and after the closing date of Wednesday 22 November.

The photos will be judged by a panel including the Headmistress Mrs Woodcock and a local professional photographer.  The winning photo in each year group will receive a £20 Amazon voucher and a runner-up in each year group will receive a £10 voucher.

To have a chance of winning, keen junior photographers should take a photo on a camera or smart phone that fits the theme.  They should then send this image as a high resolution jpeg attachment (300dpi) to: before 12 noon on Wednesday 22 November along with:a sentence on why they believe the photo represents their local community plus their name, their age, their current school and their parents’ name(s) and contact details.
