We are celebrating a fantastic aquatic result after Frances Newe, entering year 11, qualified for the National Summer Swimming Championships in Sheffield, despite a tough season. She put a plan in place which covered physical, psychological, nutritional goals so that she could make the necessary improvements and was one of only 20 swimmers in the country selected in a phenomenal five events: 400 medley, 200 medley, 200 breast, 200 fly and 200 back.
She made the finals in 3 of these and won silver in 200 fly making her the 2nd fastest in the country for her age. We are incredibly proud of her achievement. She also achieved an A in her first GCSE Statistics showing how she is managing to balance her schoolwork with her sport very effectively. What an excellent role model and demonstration of the Sydenham spirit!
