Our Spring Term CONNECT+ theme in year 4 centres upon the Romans and our three year 4 classes enjoyed a fabulous day trip to Kent Life activity centre on Monday. As well as enjoying the wider pleasures of the centre, pupils participated in a range of workshops about Roman life. During the session on centurian life, there was the opportunity to role play battle, learn about the weapons Romans had at their disposal as well as imagine what it was like to be part of a legion going off to fight.

There was also an opportunity to meet Queen Boudica and take part in an audience with this impressive historical figure. Queen Boudica talked through the story of her life and pupils had the opportunity to ask questions about her experiences and what she thought made her such a respected leader.
