Politics students visit the Houses of Parliament
On Wednesday our year 13 Politics students joined up with the Politics students from Sutton High School and enjoyed an exciting and insightful visit to Parliament. The day began with a really interesting tour of the buildings with the parliament tour guide regaling everyone with interesting stories and informative facts about the workings of the home of our government.
The students really enjoyed learning about all the different functions of each area and taking in the opulent and beautiful architecture. Perhaps even more fun was spotting some of our more prominent politicians as they roamed the halls of power!
After an excellent workshop on voting systems (with some competitive quizzing between the two schools), they embarked on a really informative and immersive Suffragettes walking tour which left our students with a real understanding of the radicalism and bravery of the women who helped forge the path for women’s rights.
