Along with the rest of the country, on Thursday 11 November we marked Armistice Day with a two-minute silence at 11am.
Leading up to that customary moment of incredible significance, Dr Waites led the whole school in an online assembly which included poems read by Drama Prefects at Prep, as well as Azrielle, year 9, who read a poem she had written herself as part of a recent reflective project in History and English. Other contributions to the assembly included our Head Girl who read a poem written by Claire in year 9 and one of our year 7 Music Scholars, Wren played both The Last Post and the Reveille beautifully.
We went into our two-minute silence remembering those who have sacrificed so much, past and present, to protect the freedoms we enjoy. Pupils also created a Wall of Remembrance in our Orangery which displays multiple reasons of why we remember plus poetry and artwork as a moving tribute, including the poems read in assembly which you can read for yourself below.
