The first Phab Club since the Pandemic saw Year 10 volunteers, led by Year 13 mentors, becoming buddies with other young people in our local community. The charity Phab inspires and supports disabled and non-disabled young people to make more of life together – breaking down community barriers, reducing social isolation and creating opportunities for all involved to enjoy the same activities and challenges side by side.

Our Year 10 volunteers enjoyed chatting with our guests, while decorating biscuits, playing board games, interacting with musical instruments and doing some mindful colouring. We are already looking forward to our next Phab Club in the New Year, as well as some training, led by Phab, which will further galvanise relationships and lend valuable insight. It was very uplifting to see pupils giving up their free time after school to engage with members of the local community that they may not usually encounter and all involved took a lot away from the experience.
