I joined the school in year 7 with an Academic scholarship. The close community created such a welcoming and caring atmosphere that it was an easy transition from my primary school.
I was a bit anxious about starting GCSEs last year, but the teachers couldn’t have made it more manageable and stress-free. Of course, there was lots of work to do, however I have also had many extracurricular opportunities. From our community projects, where we helped in an old people’s home, to raising money for Oxfam, it has been extremely rewarding helping others in a variety of ways. I also took part in poetry and essay competitions and House debating.
I have recently been accepted by The Centre of Advanced Training at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire for their intensive programme in contemporary dance. I was absolutely delighted by this and my growing passion for dance definitely stemmed from the school’s contemporary dance company, which I joined in year 8, and all of the opportunities it has given me - including dancing at Sadler’s Wells.
