Sisters n Sport vs Surbiton High School
On Wednesday, the U16 netball team competed in the 3rd round of the Sisters n Sport plate against a strong Surbiton side. From the first whistle the pace of the game was very fast and did not relent until the final minute. The team held up well under the pressure but mistakes here and there began to cost us and Surbiton finished the game as winners. It was still a fantastic team performance with debuts in the team for Isabella in Year 10 and Izzy in Year 11. Congratulations to Ruth and Maddie for being named players of the match.
Year 7 Netball at the GDST Regional Rally
On Thursday, our Y7 A+B netball team competed in their first major netball tournament at the GDST Regional Rally at Bromley High. The pace of the games was quick and both teams made lots of progress as the day went on, in both attacking and defending. Lots of pupils showed lots of versatility playing a range of positions. Well done to both teams for finishing 4th and winning multiple games across the day. Special mention to Sasha and Bea in the A’s and Alex in the B’s who were named players of the day.
GDST Dance Regional Rally
At the GDST Regional Dance Rally on Thursday it was delightful to see our Year 9 pupils collaborating with girls from across the GDST to create some stunning performance pieces. The morning was spent in workshops with a focus on Jazz, Contemporary and Commercial, each led by an inspiring professional from the dance industry. The level of challenge was immense, with complex moves being taught at speed, but the girls rose to the challenge, showing great ability to perform at this level.
In the afternoon girls chose one of the styles to continue working on, perfecting routines and techniques and collaborating with other pupils from sister schools to continue the choreography. The day culminated in performances at the end of the day, which were exceptional.
