Grand Designs workshop
Year 9 examined the role of architecture in plant cultivation and conservation, and explored the newly opened Carbon Garden, learning how plants play a crucial role in mitigating climate change.
Year 9 enjoyed a multidisciplinary day at Kew Gardens, exploring the intersections of Biology, Environmental Science, and Art & Design in Kew’s magnificent surroundings. Pupils took part in the Grand Designs workshop, where they examined the role of architecture in plant cultivation and conservation, and explored the newly opened Carbon Garden, learning how plants play a crucial role in mitigating climate change.
They also visited The Hive and Kew’s iconic glasshouses, where they reflected on how thoughtful design can support sustainable growing environments for the future.
