Harriet

Year 6 Junior School

Harriet is a wonderful advocate of the Sydenham Spirit. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Harriet joined Junior School in Reception, aged 4 and, since then, she has shown an insatiable appetite for learning. Harriet is a self professed all-rounder who enjoys all aspects of the school curriculum. She does however, declare a special love of problem solving and music. These two complementary areas of learning have seen Harriet shine during many school performances, recitals and concerts as well find great success in the ABRSM music examination. Over the years that she has been in Junior School Harriet has developed her confidence to tackle challenging, open-ended mathematical conundrums or scientific investigations.

Harriet puts down some of her success so far to the friendly, approachable and dedicated teachers she has had during her time at Junior School:

They always listen and have time to help. Whenever I have a question they answer it in a way I can understand and it helps me always try my best.

Harriet is the enjoying the 11+ Preparation Programme and is working hard to prepare for the Senior School entrance exam. She is excited about having the chance to show off what she has learned and maybe even apply for a scholarship. The most thrilling part of Year 6 however is the trip to France and the chance to show off her French!
