& taster days

Getting a real sense of what is so unique about our school is so important.

That’s why we offer Open Events and Taster Sessions throughout the school year and look forward to welcoming you soon. Please see below for upcoming dates and booking links. Booking for events usually opens at least half a term in advance or over the holidays.

A Taster Session is a wonderful way for your daughter to experience life at Sydenham High first hand. Girls take part in different lessons and activities in both smaller groups and full classes. Places for our Taster Sessions are limited and registration is essential.

Personal tours are available if the open events are fully booked. Please email  to arrange a suitable time.

Open mornings give you a sense of what the ethos and vision are at Sydenham High Prep. They are for parents and children and incorporate an individual tour by a pupil and a talk from the Head of Prep School.

The Reception and Year 3 taster sessions offer the opportunity for girls to experience Prep School life. During the Reception taster session, girls will take part in some learning activities with our Reception team. It also gives your daughter an opportunity to spend some time in our Early Years environment, prior to the assessment. Our Year 3 taster session will involve taking part in an exciting workshop with our Year 2 pupils.
Tours will be offered to parents at these events.

Open mornings occur on normal school days and give a flavour of daily activity, including a personal tour with a pupil.

The Year 7 Taster Session is an activity-packed session designed to give girls a feel for what school life would be like for them in Year 7 at Sydenham High. There are taster sessions for Year 5 in May each year and Year 6 in October.
