3 - Assessments
Owing to the Covid-19 pandemic the process for 11+ entrance examinations will differ for 2021 applicants. Applicants will still be assessed on their ability in both Mathematics and English though the papers will be reduced in length. A sample English entrance examination paper can be found here. A sample Mathematics entrance examination paper can be found here. We will also ask pupils to submit a short written piece, selecting from a range of titles and styles. The task will be released on the day itself and should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete.
We will also interview every applicant remotely, which is our chance to get to know a little more about your daughter. We will ask your daughter to speak about something she is proud of and would like to talk about. Interviews last around 15 minutes. In addition, we request a reference from all candidates’ current schools. Girls from our Prep School follow the same entry procedure as external applicants.
For 2021 entry, the Entrance Examinations will take place on Tuesday 5 January 2021. The interviews will be held virtually on Monday 4 January and Tuesday 5 January 2021. If we are unable to hold the examinations at school on Tuesday 5 January the examinations will be conducted virtually and more details will be shared for applicants for 2021 entry after the deadline for applications – Friday 27 November.
We are acutely aware of the disruption that has been faced by year 6 pupils this year and want to reassure all parents and pupils that we will take this into consideration when assessing applicants.
