A school that's good enough to eat! - Sydenham High School

A school that’s good enough to eat!

edit

Along with carol concerts and nativity plays, Sydenham High found an unusual way to top off the Autumn term: the creation of a scale model of the main school made entirely out of gingerbread!
The magnificent structure, complete with architectural features and its distinctive tower, was the idea of Ms Mikkaila McKeever-Willis who runs the new cookery enrichment classes now available to years 7 and 12.
Using photos and information from Google Earth, she created scale templates to bake with and then build with.  Not surprisingly there were many eager bakers to help her turn her vision into a wonderful reality – staff as well as girls.
Baking done, the gingerbread Sydenham High was painstakingly ‘iced’ together and put on display in the main school reception.  However it was sadly not available for school consumption – much to the disappointment of these year 12s, who were clearly feeling a little peckish!
