Acoustic performance - Sydenham High School

Acoustic performance

edit

When year 7 were in Burgundy on their French language trip in April, the group got an unexpected opportunity to show off their singing skills when they visited the famous caves of Les Grottes D’Arcy.
The caves are well known for their amazing prehistoric animal wall paintings but what is less well known is their wonderful acoustic quality.  When the party heard this from their guide they immediately decided to test this out.  They quickly broke into a rendition of the popular carol ‘Oh Holy Night’ which they had performed at the Royal Albert Hall in December.  They were amazed and delighted to find the caves were indeed a wonderful natural recital hall.  You can hear their performance here, with apologies for the fact that the girls’ faces are not visible; the caves were extremely dark!
