Politics team to join European Parliament delegation for second year running

edit

For the second year running, Sydenham High’s Year 12 Politics team has been selected to be part of a UK delegation going to the European Parliament in Strasbourg in April.  They were the overall winners in the Lewisham heat of the Euroscola Competition at Lewisham Civic Centre on 26 February.  Their presentation was on whether the UK should remain part of the EU.  The judges praised them for their team work, the clarity of their message and the way then engaged with the audience through both music and humour. The team included:  Emmanuelle Chaloner, Eleanor Wyncoll, Ellen Partington, Caitlin Porter, Clementine Joly and Meridith Dewar.

Orangaised by the European Parliament, Euroscola is a unique event for schools to learn about European integration by experiencing it at first hand.  It brings together about 600 students, aged 16-18, from all over the European Union for a day in Strasbourg discussing aspects of European integration, in multilingual working groups of 100 students.
