Design master class for Year 5

Year 5 enjoyed a new creative experience during the D’Art Exhibition. They had the opportunity to take part in a masterclass in the Design Technology suite and follow in the footsteps of some of the talented Senior School designers whose work they had previously viewed in the show.

Under the careful instruction and supervision of DT staff and Sixth Form DT students, the would-be designers used drills, cutters, sanders and injection moulding equipment to create bespoke key rings, convert jam jars to tea light holders and make planters from bamboo which they sanded and stenciled to their own design. They also used templates to make their own high-fashion fabric print earrings.

The girls were delighted with their creations and look forward to more opportunities to hone their design skills in the future.
