Dramatic success for year 8!

A Level and GCSE students are not the only ones celebrating exam success at the start of this term.   All current year 8 students have passed their Arts Award Bronze qualification which they took in year 7, a qualification which is equal to a GCSE.

The girls worked hard last year, learning new drama and characterisation techniques.

They visited the theatre to evaluate Aladdin as an informed audience member, researched their own arts inspiration, producing very interesting work along the way, and planned and led a workshop for year 6 pupils about Musical Theatre (pictured).

The exam moderator, producer Charles Savage, was extremely impressed with everyone’s work. One of his highlights was Manal Aggour who spoke passionately about her arts hero, Alan Rickman, who turned out to be a good friend of Charles from university.
