Last Friday, year 11 Art students spent a fascinating day at the National Portrait Gallery for our Art GCSE. The trip was based on our overall topic: expressive portraits. We were led by a freelance artist, Allison, who showed us around the gallery. We were able to discuss each painting with deep analysis. After the tour we had a look at the BP Portrait Award Exhibition 2018 and the work this year was extraordinary. The trip really helped students gather ideas for their individual projects.
