Year 12 Art students enjoyed an educational visit to the Cornelia Parker exhibition at the Tate Britain and the ‘Maria Bartuszova’ exhibition at the Tate Modern as part of their ‘Construct and Deconstruct’ project. With both exhibitions relating directly to the theme being explored so far on the Year 12 course, investigating how artists have used destruction as a form of creation in their Artwork. Students learnt how to interpret new forms of Art from new perspectives and gained knowledge and understanding that can be applied to their coursework investigations into the artists. It was a great example of expanding on learning outside of the classroom.
