Mrs Vaughan treated pupils to two inspirational speakers streaming live from The Hay Festival. Author, broadcaster and educator, Jeffrey Boakye spoke about his first middle grade novel, his interest in 90’s trivia, and some of the deeper influences for his latest novel. And, Laura Bates, founder of the Sexism Project, shared her work collecting stories about people’s experiences to combat gender inequality. We joined them live as they chatted with an audience of young people, exploring topics pertinent to teenage lives today, including race, masculinity, and education, as well as consent and online pressure.
