This week, 38 of our computer science pupils from Year 9, GCSE, and Sixth Form visited the Samsung Europe Headquarters to participate in their Business Insight Day. They enjoyed a tour of Samsung’s Smart Home showroom, experiencing what a futuristic home looks like, from security to cooking, entertainment, and even sleeping. It was an eye-opener for all of us.

They worked together as a group to identify a sustainability issue they would like to tackle, developed a pitch, and had the opportunity to present to the Samsung Product Development and Marketing team. The judges praised many on-point, creative ideas, stating they are highly marketable with great potential.

The students also had the privilege of listening to Samsung’s senior management share their career journeys. The girls were inspired by the diverse career paths and how Samsung, as a corporation, supports young entrepreneurs in achieving their dreams.

Many of our pupils provided feedback, expressing that they found the event engaging and enjoyable. They appreciated the teamwork aspect of addressing the issue and presenting to professionals. They eagerly anticipate the next opportunity to visit and tour the office area, gaining insights into Samsung’s working practices in action.
