Young Leadership Team

edit

Across the UK, girls and young women aspire to challenge conventional leadership norms. The Girls’ Futures Report, a landmark survey conducted by GDST with insights from 5,000 girls in state, academy, and independent schools, unveiled a shifting attitude in young women towards the workplace and traditional measures of success.

“Girls want to be able to work flexibly in a job that makes a difference to society.” The report evidences the ways in which the girls’ attitudes to leadership and the workplace are changing. We are committed to empowering our girls to discover their futures and have the confidence to own their pathways as well as to take a lead. We take pride in our Young Leadership Team, actively involved in various aspects of school life, driving initiatives that they believe will make a positive difference in society. We are thrilled to announce our new Head of School, Lara and Izzy, and Deputy Head, Tabby and Daisy. They demonstrated exceptional skills throughout the election process, winning votes from the entire Sydenham community.

Let’s hear what are their visions for this year : –

Lara : I am so delighted to have this opportunity and as head girl I would love to enhance the community within Sydenham by organising more whole school activities to create further chances for all to feel included and a part of this wonderful school body.

Izzy : I want to encourage a positive attitude towards learning, in a supportive environment as well as enthusiasm for all the opportunities and co-curricular activities available here at Sydenham.

Tabby : I aim to promote diversity in our school community to cultivate a welcoming environment where varied perspectives can work together to maximise the wellbeing of others.

Daisy : I would like to create a stronger sense of a wider school community and promote creativity to foster student well being.

We look forward to work with the new pupil Leadership team and continue to make a positive different to our school and a wider community.
