This week marked the beginning of our summer season with two open athletics events held at Croydon High School. We were delighted to see all the girls display courage by participating and taking the initiative to engage in a variety of events. Many pupils studying GCSE PE seized this opportunity to explore different track and field disciplines, aiming to identify areas for improvement and support their progress throughout the season.

Notable achievements included Holly achieving a personal best in shot put, Ivy securing victory in the high jump, and Maggie and Alli claiming first and second place respectively in the long jump. Despite the rain on Thursday, Year 8 pupils demonstrated great resilience by continuing to compete in as many events as possible.

The emphasis of this competition was less on winning and more on gaining valuable experience. However, the impressive results have already sparked excitement for the upcoming season!
