Sporting outfits which resembled their early career aspirations, our Year 13 leavers led their final school assembly with many wonderful memories of their school days. Whilst we no longer have as many would-be spies or secret agents, we do have ambitious, courageous young people ready to conquer the world and make a difference. With awards dedicated to teachers and recollections of highlights (often of situations that went awry), we were very much entertained by our Sixth Form leavers this week. Ms Geldeard took the time-honoured trip up the bell tower, a special leavers’ privilege, to witness the spectacular views and hear spooky tales!  Our Year 13s delivered their poignant final message to the school: “Be kind – Sydenham High will help you to reach for the stars.”

In a tearful moment, our leavers who helped to create the giraffes outside our Prep School also returned to say goodbye to our younger community. They spoke to Years 5 and 6 of the powerful impressions made by their teachers and their personal growth and fearlessness, enhanced through such important relationships. 

Our Year 11s also enjoyed their last day of GCSE lessons and celebrated with nerf gun battles, coffee and cake, shirt-signing and games. We look forward to celebrating after the exam season and wish all our pupils the very best for the upcoming months.
