Anti-Bullying Week 2023 - Sydenham High School

Anti-Bullying Week 2023

edit

A culture of kindness is one of the core values of our school, and we maintain zero tolerance for bullying.

During Anti-Bullying Week, we take the opportunity to reflect on and be mindful of how our behaviour impacts others. Our aim is to leverage our strength to promote kindness instead of harbouring negativity.

In our assembly this week, our sixth formers led us in a deeper exploration of the concept of bullying and how it differs from banter. They shared facts and tips on how to approach situations when incidents arise.

This year’s theme is “Make a NOISE about bullying,” aligning with our school motto: FEAR NOTHING. We encourage everyone to step up, be bold, and not be a bystander when witnessing actions that go against our values.

SPEAK UP

BE SUPPORTIVE

TELL A TRUSTED ADULT

Kindness is the antidote to bullying. As Sydenham High pupils, we are committed to spreading love and creating a supportive, loving community.

With that in mind, our Charity Representatives are once again organizing a ‘Reverse Advent Calendar,’ aiming to provide a gift to a child who might not receive anything for Christmas.

Each class will receive a gift bag to fill until Friday, December 1. We’ll gather all the gifts and deliver them to our local Salvation Army collection point for distribution to families in need. This year, the Salvation Army anticipates an increase in the number of families seeking help due to the cost of living crisis. Through this initiative, we hope to make a small but meaningful difference to our local community.

We thank you for your support in making this happen!
